Social Media Content Creator
CASUAL | 12 HOURS PER WEEK | CANBERRA, ACT
We’re looking for a creative, switched-on content creator to join the team behind five of Canberra’s best-loved venues. If you love hospitality, live on socials, and know how to make reels & TikToks that stops the scroll - we want to hear from you.
ABOUT LALA HOSPITALITY GROUP
Lala Hospitality Group is the team behind five of Canberra’s most distinctive venues - Molly, VICE, Highball, 88mph, and Amici Wine Bar & Deli. We’re looking for someone to capture what makes each of them special and share it with the world.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on role for someone who is creative, switched on, confident with an iPhone or simple filming setup, and knows how to turn raw footage into clean, useful content people actually want to watch. Reporting to the Events & Marketing Director, your world is video content - ideating them, planning them, filming them, and editing them. You’ll think in batches, plan shoots strategically across our five venues, and deliver a consistent drumbeat of short-form video content that’s on-trend, on-brand, and genuinely engaging.
This role would suit a marketing student or emerging creative who wants real creative ownership and to continue building a portfolio.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Generating a steady stream of creative reel concepts across five venue brands - proactively, not reactively
Building and maintaining a filming schedule that batches content capture efficiently across venues
Attending venues during afternoons and some evenings to film content - knowing exactly what you need before you walk in the door
Editing up to 15 reels & TikToks per week across all five venues, keeping them sharp, short, and platform-native
Staying genuinely ahead of trends on Instagram - bringing ideas to the table before they’ve peaked, not after
Tracking reel performance and feeding insights back into your ideation process
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Based in Canberra (our venues are all located within Civic)
A strong reel portfolio - we want to see your editing style, your eye, and your ability to make short-form content that stops the scroll
A strategic, batching mindset - you plan your shoots, you don’t just show up and see what happens
Genuine trend awareness - you’re across what’s working on social media right now, and you have a point of view on it
The ability to adapt your style across five venues with very different personalities and audiences
Proficiency with video editing apps (CapCut, Edits, or similar)
Self-directed and organised - you manage your own schedule and deliver consistently without hand-holding
BONUS POINTS FOR:
Currently studying marketing, communications, media, or a related field
Experience creating content for hospitality, food & beverage, or lifestyle brands
Knowledge of Meta Business Suite and Instagram Analytics
Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar)
Genuine enthusiasm for Canberra’s bar and dining scene
WHAT WE OFFER:
A casual role with consistent hours - approximately 12 hours per week
Flexible scheduling that works around your studies or other commitments
Real creative ownership - this is an ideation-first role, not a brief-execution role
The opportunity to build a diverse, multi-brand portfolio across five distinct venues
Mentorship and direction from an experienced Events & Marketing Director
HOURS:
Primarily afternoons and some evenings, balanced between on-site venue shoots and off-site editing and planning. We’ll build a schedule that works for you.
